Hard Rock Hotel
Box Office Manager Tunes Into Home
Ownership at
Astoria Homes Community of Silverado Place
(Las Vegas) – Twenty-four-year-old
Bret White said music has helped shape
his life. He works as the box office
supervisor at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino,
assisting customers and working with
band managers of such greats as The Who,
the British band Cold Play and Robert
Plant. He also has collected a couple
of autographed electric guitars from
the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Goo
Goo Dolls.
But outside of work
and play, he admits it was music to his
ears when he learned about Silverado
Place, an Astoria Homes community in
the Silverado Ranch area.
“When I first
saw the Silverado Place models, I could
see myself living there and did everything
possible to make sure I could buy one
of the homes,” said White. “It
was the only affordable, attractive housing
community to me that was in a great location
in Las Vegas.”
White opted for an Astoria
Home because it fit his price range as
a first-time homebuyer. He also was not
interested in purchasing a condominium. “Why
would someone want to buy a condo in
today’s market when you can buy
a house like this for the same price?” he
questioned.
In mid-September, White
moved into his Silverado Place home,
which cost about $114,000. Known as the “upside
down” house, the home’s kitchen,
main living room and balcony are upstairs,
and a second bedroom is downstairs. White,
who has a roommate, said the living quarters
are ideal for a roommate situation.
Silverado Place, located
in a premier area off of Silverado Ranch
Road and Bermuda, features two private
community pools, a children’s pool,
two playgrounds with swing sets, an outdoor
basketball half-court and covered picnic
areas. Many of the homes also offer courtyards,
which helps create a sense of community
among neighbors. In addition, all the
Silverado Place homes feature Energy
Star, an energy-saving system that conserves
energy and lowers utility bills.
Silverado Place is the
first Astoria Homes community in the “Triumph
Neighborhoods” series. The Triumph
communities will all feature quality
homes for the first-time homebuyer, including
all the amenities of other homes but
at a significantly lower price point.
They are also developed in popular areas
where homebuyers would generally have
a difficult time finding entry-level
homes.
“As a first-time
homebuyer, it means a lot to me to have
a homebuilder helping us out,” White
said. “The house fits my needs
and is exactly what I was looking for.
If I didn’t buy this house, I would
have had to settle for something I didn’t
want. It’s an ideal place to live.
I have a great job and now I have a great
home.”
Astoria’s other
communities include: Ironwood Estates
in Centennial Hills; Auburn Hills, Canyon
Trails and Independence in the Southwest;
and Villa Villagio in Seven Hills. The
Astoria Homes’ website can be accessed
