ASTORIA HOMES HONORED WITH NATIONAL AWARD FOR SUPPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY'S "ENERGY STAR" PROGRAM

Sia Howe, director of marketing for Astoria Homes, announced today that the local homebuilder has earned an ENERGY STAR® Achievement Award for building 150 ENERGY STAR labeled homes during 2001.

Las Vegas based Astoria Homes was among only 18 homebuilder's nationwide recognized in the category of mid-sized builders. The award is being presented the first week of March.

"We are very honored to receive the ENERGY STAR award and to continue implementing the program in our communities," said Howe. "Astoria Homes always embarks on top-notch efforts to benefit our homebuyers."

Among the Astoria communities utilizing ENERGY STAR are: Canyon Trails and Auburn Hills at Rhodes Ranch; Stonegate Encore and Silverado Place in Silverado Ranch; Ironwood in Centennial Hills; and Villa Villagio in Seven Hills. Astoria's other communities include: Parkside Village and Silverado Lane.
